Phil Phillips Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Olpin Family Mortuary on Jan. 4, 2025.
Phil Earl Phillips Sr., 88, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, with his family by his side. Phil was born May 21, 1936, in American Fork, Utah, the seventh of ten children, to Kenneth and Lucy Phillips.
Phil grew up in American Fork and attended schools there and graduated from American Fork High School. He enlisted in the U S Army immediately after graduation and served in the infantry. His first tour was spent in Germany and later he was stationed in Iceland.
In 1958 after his military service, he married Cheree on September 25, 1958. Together they enjoyed one of their favorite fishing holes "Red Creek", camping, and spending time with family.
After several years of construction work, Phil and his brothers founded Phillips Manufacturing Travel Lite where he spent the rest of his career serving the public recreational needs.
Phil is survived by his five children: Phil (DeAnn) Phillips, Gaylyn (Mark) Dalley, Kirk (Linda) Phillips, Kathy (Joe) Miller and Eric (Stacie) Phillips and his brother, Larry (Shari) Phillips. He was preceded in death by his wife Cheree, parents, two grandchildren (Tyler Dalley and MacKenzie Phillips) and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove where friends and family may attend a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Timpanogos Honor Guard.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all friends and neighbors who assisted Phil over the past year. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to your favorite charity.
