Jane Belsky Obituary

Jane Belsky
Jane Thompson Belsky died on 14 May 2025, at the age of 92. Raised in Amsterdam, NY, she graduated from Colby College for Women (now Colby-Sawyer College) and moved to Boston, where she met Joseph Belsky, whom she married in 1956. From its beginning, theirs was a loving and collaborative partnership, and their complementary attributes and good fortune allowed them to build a robust life of family, friends and community. She was a caring, principled and empathetic daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed music, theater, travel and extended family. Health challenges in her later years reduced her opportunities and highlighted her bravery. Jane's life ended in hospice care at home in Southbury, CT. She is remembered, missed and survived by her children, Stephen, Susan, David, Martha, and spouses, her nieces and nephews, her grandchildren, her friends, and her husband of seven decades. An opportunity to celebrate her life will be offered to friends and family at a later date. Acts of kindness and inclusion in her memory will honor her. Jane was a dear, dear friend to my parents and someone I remember fondly from my childhood. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew and loved her. My sympathies to Joe and the entire Belsky family.
