Philip C. Wentworth, 78, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1946, in Zanesville to the late Fred and Lola Evilsizer Wentworth. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School. Philip was the Director of Safety and Security at Good Samaritan Hospital for 30 years and then spent ten years at Nationwide Children's Hospital as the Director of Safety. In his free time Philip enjoyed working outside in the yard and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 46 ½ years, Janice Crum Wentworth; his children: Paula (Tad) Sowers, Pamela (Brian) Hostutler, Philina (Jeremy) Schram, Philip C. (Laura) Wentworth II and Philita (Matt) Scholz; three brothers: Roy Wentworth, Steven (Karen) Wentworth and James (Tracy) Wentworth; and six grandchildren: Isaac Schram, Jenna Schram, Josh Mason, Adam Sowers, Anna (Brandon) Ruhl and Brian Hostutler Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law JoAnn Wentworth.
Calling hours will be from 11AM to 1PM, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 1PM in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

I've known the Wentworth family since I was little. Our parents were friends and we all grew up in the church together. Saying prayers for the family and may God comfort them.
