Phyllis Ann Hale (nee Stenger) age 88, of Crown Point, IN passed away on Tuesday evening on June 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Leroy Hale. Phyllis is survived by her daughters: Karen (Wade) Horst, Kathy (Don) Redar; grandchildren: Eric (late Molly) Horst, Timothy (Tabatha) Redar, Erin (Nick) Arnold, Patrick (Kate) Horst, Greg (Monique) Redar, Julie (Andre) Perry, and Kevin (Lori) Horst; great grandchildren: Timmy, Talula, Stella, Greyson, Anabella, Gabriella, Sebastian, Emma, Ava, Briana, Riley, Morgan, Carter, Gwynnie, and Xander.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave. Cedar Lake, IN 46303. A funeral liturgy will take place Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:30 am at Burdan Funeral Home Chapel, Father Hector Trevino, officiating.
Phyllis was born in Nebraska on March 8, 1937. She grew up around Cedar Lake, graduating from Lowell High School in 1955. She retired from Franciscan Health Crown Point (St. Anthony's Medical Center) in 2008. Phyllis was an avid gardener and bird watcher, her favorite birds to observe where cardinals, blue jays and hummingbirds. She enjoyed DIY projects, woodworking, and crafting. She was known for her fall fish fry's. Phyllis was a dedicated family woman. To some grandkids, she was known as Grandma Tale or Gram-Gram. She will be missed for her quick wit, sense of humor and zingers.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis' memory may be made to Dunes Hospice or St. Jude’s Hospital.
