Phyllis Carol Shelton, 69 yrs old of Jay, Florida passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, on a historic snowstorm in Florida. She always loved the snow so much!
Born in Noblesville, Indiana, on September 9, 1955, she was the first daughter of Samuel and Stella Ells (Wilson). She was a 1974 graduate of Westfield High School (Westfield, IN). Phyllis was known as a true friend to so many and would nourish and cherish lifetime friendships.
Phyllis was a nurse for over 30 years working in hospital settings, home health care and finally working at nursing homes. She loved what she did and loved all her patients. She was always so kind and caring to them. As she got to retire, she got to enjoy the things she loved to due which was her garden and canning all the fruits of her labor. She also loved planting her pretty flowers everywhere. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ralph. She had an art for writing, drawings and knitting.
As she got news about her cancer, she always remained positive and optimistic. She always had a smile on her face, and she loved with all her heart. She was so strong in her faith, and she would always tell her children have no fear, the lord is with me. Until she could no longer fight, and our merciful God took her to everlasting glory and peacefulness in heaven.
She is preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Stella Ells; son, Matthew Benjamin Richert; grandparents and a few aunts and uncles.
