Pramod Behari Agarwal, 79, died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of July 7, 2025, at the Saint Therese at Saint Odilia Hospice Center.
Pramod was born in Bareilly, India to Mukat Behari Agarwal and Champa Kali Devi in 1945. Pramod always looked to better himself and travelled far and wide to make that happen. After completing advanced degrees in Germany in Computer Engineering, he married Asha Gupta in 1976 and was determined to pursue the American Dream by immigrating to the United States in 1978, leaving behind his new bride and young son, Sumit, in India (who both immigrated to the United States in 1979).
Pramod, Asha, and Sumit put down roots in Milwaukee, WI starting in 1979 and were blessed with another son, Amit, who was born in Milwaukee. Pramod and his wife remained in Milwaukee until 2019 when they left to move closer to Sumit in Saint Paul, MN.
Pramod was dedicated to his family and the vibrant Asian Indian community in Milwaukee. He was fond of visiting family both in the United States and in India until he was no longer able to travel. He continued to "virtually" visit his friends and family on a regular basis. Pramod's faith and culture were equally important to him; after many years of hard work, he, along with the Asian Indian community in Milwaukee, built the Hindu Temple of Wisconsin in 2000.
Pramod is preceded in death by his father (Mukat Behari Agarwal), mother (Champa Kali Devi), and four brothers (Avadh Agarwal, Raj Agarwal, Gopal Agarwal, and Prem Agarwal), and two infant sisters. He is immediately survived by his wife (Asha Agarwal), his son (Sumit Agarwal; married to Julaine Roffers-Agarwal with son Rajan), and his son (Amit Agarwal; married to Andrea Nair, with daughters Kerala and Siena). Pramod is also survived by brothers Bipin Agarwal (Wife – Wendy), Ram Agarwal (Wife – Renu), and Kishan Agarwal (Wife – Suman), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The currently scheduled funeral and religious ceremonies are private. A forthcoming "Celebration of Life" event will be held in the Milwaukee, WI area at a yet to be determined date.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the following organizations in Pramod's name.
