In Loving Memory of
Pat Long
Beloved Mother, Caregiver, and Lifelong Lions Fan
Sunrise: March 30 1943
Sunset: July 8 2025
Pat was born on March 30, 1943, the daughter of John and Rosemary (Smith) Sanchez in Detroit, MI.
She is survived by her children, Cathy (Phil) Hesche of Saranac, Kenny Davison of Saranac, John (Tamara) Davison of North Carolina, Tom Long of Greenville, Cory (Sandi) Long of Saranac and Michelle (Travis) Rose of Lakeview; sister, Anna Parrett of Detroit; 20 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Pat Long lived a life full of kindness, dedication, and love. She was known for her deep loyalty - to her family, to her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and to her favorite team, the Detroit Lions. Pat gave her heart fully to the people around her, whether she was comforting a patient, encouraging a loved one, or cheering through every Lions game.
One of the most joyful moments in recent years was her 80th birthday. Surrounded by friends and family, Pat was radiant - honored and deeply touched to see everyone who came to celebrate with her. That day captured who she was: humble, joyful, and deeply grateful for connection.
Her legacy is one of quiet strength and steady love. She cared deeply, gave generously, and left every space better than she found it.
We will miss her dearly, but her spirit lives on in each of us - in every act of kindness, every shared memory, and every Sunday spent cheering on the team she never gave up on.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents, Marion and Josephine Smith.
A Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Memorial Contributions may be made to West Michigan Hospice of Lowell. Online Condolences can be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
