Rachael Acedo Payne "Rocky", 70, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1954, in Corcoran, California, to Alexander Atilano and Guadalupe Pedroza Atilano.
Rachael was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her life was centered around family, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones. Whether it was fishing on a quiet morning, crocheting handmade treasures, cooking comforting meals, or traveling to visit those she cared about, Rachael lived with love and generosity in every moment.
She is survived by her son, Nickolas Atilano and his wife Sarah of Jacksonville, Florida; her daughter, Ann Lewis and her husband Jim of Winnsboro, Texas; her brothers, Alex Atilano and Daniel Atilano; and her sisters, Evelyn Atilano and Ophelia Cain. Rachael was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.
Rachael was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Guadalupe Atilano.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her nurturing spirit, and her deep devotion to her family. Her memory will live on through the lives of those who loved her and the countless moments she made special.
