Rachel Cox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mosdell Mortuary on Sep. 12, 2023.
Rachel Bradshaw Cox was born to Lafey LaVel Bradshaw and Ilynn Christensen on May 6th, 1948 in Beaver, Utah. She returned peacefully to her Heavenly Home on September 11, 2023 from her earthly home in Orderville, Utah.
Rachel was sealed to her eternal companion Melvin Allen Cox on Sept 13th, 1968. They began their life together in Summit, Utah (Iron county). After living there 2 years they moved their little family to Orderville, Utah, where they continued to grow, serve, work and play until the present day.
Rachel is survived by husband Melvin Allen Cox of Orderville, Utah; children Mary Ann & Kyron Brinkerhoff of Bloomfield, NM, Duke & Shiree Cox of Orderville, Utah, Doug & Letitia Cox of Orderville, Utah, Danny & Bethany Cox of Lehi, Utah, and Dustin & Harmony Cox of Alton, Utah; siblings James Bradshaw of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rea Dawn Rowley of Parowan, Utah, and Shadrach Bradshaw of Beaver, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents LaVel & Ilynn Bradshaw; siblings Gary LaVel Bradshaw, Lynn Richard Bradshaw, & Randall C Bradshaw; and great-grandchildren Hudson Lloyd Seely & Eugene Melvin Brinkerhoff.
Rachel loved life and what she loved most was spending time with her family. She and Melvin are the proud grandparents of 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with the newest being born just the day before her passing. She was a loyal supporter and biggest fan of whatever activity her grandkids happen to be participating in at the time.
Rachel had a deep and abiding testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With her companion Melvin she served two full-time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; one in the Colorado Denver South Mission, and one in the Utah St George Mission. They also served in the St George Temple for 6 years.
In lieu of flowers or gifts please donate to the missionary fund in your local ward.
As a family we would like to thank all who have served and loved our Mother and Grandmother. We would also like to thank the Mosdells for their friendship, kindness, dedication and "Humor."
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Orderville LDS Church, with viewings Thursday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM and Friday morning from 10:30-11:45 AM, both at the Orderville Church. Burial will be in the Orderville Cemetery. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.

I have known Rachel all my life and she has always been a large part of my life. We both lived in Manderfield, we are cousins, but we were also best friends. We were the same age so everything we did, we did it together.
I love you Rachel, I can´t imagine my life without you we have so many memories.
We went to college together. One day we were laying out getting a sun tan and Rachel went to sleep. She had such a bad sun burn we had to take her to the hospital.
When we were together, we were always laughing. Rachel was quite a girl she was lots of fun and I loved everything we did together.
In the class will in High School it said "Rachel and Marilyn leaves Beaver High School a little peace and quiet"
I only wish I could talk to her again, have more luncheons, and tell her how much I enjoyed her friendship. I will miss her terribly.
Rachel you will always be in my heart.
