Rachel Evelyn Lee, 92, of Granite City, IL died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, IL. She was born on December 21, 1932 in York NE to Aaron P. Petersen and Florence (nee: Mason) Petersen. Rachel married LaVerne Larsen on January 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death then she married Joe H. Lee on February 14, 1981 in St. Louis, MO and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2016. Rachel retired from the Granite City Library after 15 or more years of service. She was a long term member of Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville, IL and a member of the Eastern Star. Rachel loved to read and she was on a bowling league when younger. The loving mother and grandmother is survived by a son, Erik Larsen of Granite City; a grandson, Erik G. Larsen; 5 step-children and her good friend Kathi Brady. Rachel is preceded in death by both husbands; her parents and a sister, Loretta Kirk. Professional services entrusted to the care of Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Family and friends can meet on the parking lot at the cemetery.
