Randall Wayne Hancock, 70, retired Engineering Technician Senior/Project Manager for the Kansas Department of Transportation, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025.
Celebration of life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Family and friends are invited to share memories, laughter, and love as we honor a life well-lived. His final hunt is set for October.
Randy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat Hancock of Andover; parents, Dale and Deanie Hancock; daughters, Ali Hancock, Jenny (Nick) Bailey; grandchildren, Mason and Paige Bailey, all of Wichita; brother, Stan (Kim) Hancock of Derby; sister, Annette Ratcliff of Valley Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Randy was a proud Kansan through and through who enjoyed watching the sunsets while sipping his iced tea. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and he even had a lifetime license to prove it. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, Randy proudly cheered "Go Pack Go!" no matter the season, no matter the score.
Randy wore many hats throughout his life, both literally and figuratively, and humbly called himself a "jack of all trades, master of none." But perhaps his favorite role of all was being "Papa Randy" to Mason and Paige, a title he wore with the most pride and joy.
For over 38 years, Randy, lovingly nicknamed Slowly, offered a listening ear and wise guidance to many through the New Life Group, where he became known as a true legend.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with New Life Group, 1611 Roanoke St., Wichita, KS 67218.
