Randolph "Randy" Edward Brann, age 82, of Haynesville, Virginia passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, June 27 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on December 5, 1942 to the late Lester Julius Brann and the late Maxine Maude Smith Brann at his homeplace in Callao. In the earlier years of his life, Randy served in the United States Coast Guard.
Randy was the owner and operator of his company, R.E. Brann Trucking. He was very proud of his 6200lb national modified pulling truck. He had a deep love of trucks, cars, motorcycles, and pretty much anything with wheels. Randy enjoyed drag racing with his friends and riding motorcycles. Even though Randy loved his trucks, his absolute greatest love was his wife, Gloria and his family. Spending time with them gave him so much joy.
Randy's memory will be cherished by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Brann of Warsaw; his sons, Randolph "Randy" Brann, Jr. of Norfolk and Timothy "Timmy" Brann (Tammy) of Haynesville; his step-son, Charles "Mitch" Owens of Doswell; his granddaughters, Kelly Brann of Warsaw and Katelin Kiple (Matthew) also of Warsaw; and his siblings, Ronnie Brann (Sandy) of Callao and Sue Shearwood (David) of Tappahannock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Maxine; his nephew, Michael Brann; his brother, Larry Brann; and granddaughter, Samantha Brann.
A funeral service for Randy will be held at Welch Funeral Home- Marks Chapel on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Campbell officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Randy is to be buried after the service at Totuskey Baptist Church.
