Ray August Boeke, 95, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Retired, passed away in The Villages, Florida on July 08, 2025.
He was born in Evanston, Illinois on April 16, 1930 to Arthur and Esther Boeke. Ray attended Webster United Methodist Church in Webster, Fl and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Chester, Virginia. Ray retired as an engineer in the US Army after 20 years. He enjoyed woodworking, wood carving, stained glass, golf, plants, playing and coaching basketball, volunteering at his church, and traveling the world.
Ray is survived by his wife of 17 years, Sarah Foote Boeke of Webster, Florida; daughter: Debra Toth (Frank) of Glenn Allen, Virgina, Paula Linck of Mableton, Georgia, two grandchildren: Tia Whitmer (Albion) of Goochland, Virginia, and Daniel Toth of Charles City, Virginia; 1 great-grandchild: Emma Whitmer of Goochland, Virginia; step children: Mike Foote (Judy) of Webster, Florida, Anne Hill (Steven) of Bushnell, Florida, Karen Ray of Bushnell, Florida, Skip Foote (Dotty) of Valrico, Florida and Debby Callaway of Palm Springs, Florida, along with numerous step grandchildren. He is Preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Mary Ellen Boeke.
A visitation will be held at Webster United Methodist Church from 10am-11am, with the service starting at 11am. A burial will take place immediately following the service at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to Webster United Methodist Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at https://www.beyersfuneralhome.com/.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home- Purcell Chapel, Bushnell, Florida.
