Raymond Layton Skinner, 62, of Auburn, IL, passed away on June 4, 2025 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Raymond was born on January 31, 1963 to Earl and Ella (Sheets) Skinner at Great Falls, MT. He attended school at Girard High School, acquiring his GED in 1982. Raymond worked for Bunn Capital, in Springfield, IL. He had previously worked at Henry Tech in Chatham, IL, and had been a security guard for several places locally.
He loved listening to Classic Rock, gardening, cooking and collecting little motorcycles, as well as various Hamilton collectables, and loved cats. Raymond spent time welding little animals out of steel.
Raymond is survived by his three sister; Keila (Roger) Jackson of Girard, Lilly (Bernie Barker ) Skinner of Girard, IL, Brenda (George) Smith of Columbia, MO; and brother; Brian (Vicki Guthrie) Skinner of Thayer, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and sister; Alice Lorton.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 9, 2025, 4:00-7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, 226 N. 3rd St, Girard, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, 10:00 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL, with Rev. Victor Angulo, officiating.
Burial will be in Girard Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Sangamon County Animal Shelter and/or Macoupin County Animal Shelter.
