Raymond Vincent Souza 79 of Pawtucket, formerly of Alabama, passed away on June 23, 2025, at Orchard View Nursing Home in Riverside. He was born on July 9, 1945, in Cranston, son of the late Viola May (McGowan) and Joseph Souza, Sr. He was the former partner of the late Cindy Martin.
Mr. Souza served as an Altar Boy at The Cathedral of Saint Paul in Providence. As a teenager he embarked on a successful amateur career as a boxer as well as working in several restaurants as a cook. Cooking was a passion that he carried throughout his life. Raymond went on to become a successful commercial painter, specializing in both interior and exterior painting, as well as being a maintenance man. In his free time Raymond enjoyed watching old movies, playing cards and going to the casino.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Hardy of Alabama, Cayla Marin of Alabama and Rebecca Higgins of Georgia. He was a grandfather of 10 beautiful grandchildren. He was the brother of Beatrice Cardoso and her husband Antonio of Pawtucket and Donna Vasquez of Florida. In addition to his parents; Raymond is reunited with his siblings the late Joseph McGowan Souza, Jr., Thomas Charles Souza, Marie Souza, Harriet Idaray Souza and Mary Johnson.
At the request of the family all services will remain private. Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket. Arrangements are under the care of the Charles Coelho Funeral Home of Central Falls.
