Rebecca Sue Hulsey, lovingly known to most as Becky and affectionately called BecBec by her
family, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on October
4, 1950, in Jacksonville, Alabama, to Wayne and Mary Wilson.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Wilson. She is survived by her
beloved four children, Steven Dwayne Hulsey (the "Golden Child") (Jeanne), Amy Rebecca
Hulsey, Emma Leigh Hulsey (Kaitlyne), and Amanda Nycole Wallace (John); 16 grandchildren;
and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a proud sister to Elaine (Terry Parris), Paula (David Lewis),
and Beth Gainous, she also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and others that she
loved as her own.
Family was Becky's greatest joy and most treasured blessing. She poured her heart into the
people she loved and found true happiness in their presence.
Becky was a fiercely independent woman with a heart devoted to serving others. She was
always willing to help, yet never one to ask for help herself. She worked hard behind the
scenes, avoided the spotlight, and never sought praise or attention-she simply showed up,
quietly and consistently, for the people she loved.
Her strength, both physical and spiritual, defined her. Known for being stubborn, tough, and
anchored in her faith, Becky was deeply committed to her church. She was always reliable and
present, offering her time and talents without hesitation. Her gift for music blessed many-she
was an amazing pianist who played with both skill and soul. She also had a remarkable talent
for sewing, creating everything from clothes to quilts as a skilled seamstress, each stitch filled
with care and love.
Becky was also a passionate fan of college football and never missed a chance to cheer for her
beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. Saturdays in the fall were sacred, and she proudly proclaimed
Roll Tide with every win.
Becky's faith in God was unshakable, and it gave her the strength to face life's many challenges
with grace. That strength, and the love she poured into her family, will remain with us always.
We will miss her every single day. But we will honor her not with fanfare-because she wouldn't
have wanted that-but by living as she did: staying strong, trusting God, using our gifts to serve
others, and showing up for those who matter most.
A visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with funeral services at Northside Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Mitch Landress will be officiating.
