Rebecca Perez passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, June 19, 2025.

Born on October 9, 1949, Rebecca was the youngest child of Daniel and Leonor Perez in New Braunfels, TX, where she resided most of her life. As the youngest, Rebecca helped raise numerous nieces and nephews over the years. She had a gift with children- there was never a baby that wasn't fond of her embrace.

Rebecca dedicated many years to public service, working both as a teacher's aide and later for the city of New Braunfels. Her commitment to community was matched only by her quiet wisdom and gentle presence.

As a lifelong lover of books, music, and museums, Rebecca had a deeply thoughtful and curious spirit. Though she spent most of her time in Texas, her later years included joyful travels to Chicago to visit her children Julianna and Gabriel. These visits were filled with discovery, laughter, and shared adventures. Her daughter, Julie, remembers, her as "the best adventure buddy."

Rebecca was known for her love of a sweet treat. Her children fondly remember going out on late-night "secret missions" in search of pie, ice cream, or saltwater taffy. She was delighted by life's simple pleasures- picnics in the park, trips to the cinema, and quiet evenings with her cats.

Rebecca is survived by her children Rosanna, Julianna, Sadie, Marissa, Gabriel, Alyssia, and Annaliese as well as her cats Callum, Stormothy, and Achilles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her children Jamie and Carlos.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 13th from 12:30-7:30 p.m. in the Garden Rooms of the New Braunfels Civic Center, a short distance from where she worked for many years.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Hope Hospice for their assistance.
