Reese Walker, age 52, passed away at his home in Saline, Louisiana, on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
Throughout his life, Reese wore many hats professionally, but none brought him more joy than driving a school bus for Lincoln Parish. He adored his "Bus Kids" and took great pride in the role he played in their daily lives.
To his family, he was "Pops"-his favorite title of all. He loved being a grandpa and found his greatest happiness in spending time with his children and grandchildren, never missing a chance to spoil them with love, laughter, and surprises.
A true outdoorsman, Reese found peace in his garden and joy riding dirt bikes with the kids-always up for a little friendly competition and a whole lot of mud. If there was a lake nearby, you could count on Reese to be there, especially if it meant he could show off his skills as the self-proclaimed knee-board spray king. He was always the life of the party, known for gathering friends and family for a good time-particularly when a new Marvel movie hit the theaters.
Reese proudly served his country in the United States Army, a point of pride that carried through his life in the way he showed up for others-with loyalty, strength, and a selfless willingness to help anyone in need.
He will be remembered for his big heart, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone lucky enough to know him.
Reese is survived by his children, Andrew Walker (Rachel) and Allyson Walker Baer (Zachary); grandchildren, Aubrey Walker and Connor Walker; aunt, Betty Dobson (Ronnie); uncle, John Robinson (Helen); honorary sons, Ian Fanning and Dawson Lacomb; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry L. Walker; mother, Alice Rosena (Robinson) Walker; paternal grandmother, Virginia "Big Momma" Robinson; and uncle, Kenneth Toms.
Friends may visit with the family at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Kelly Leach officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Louisiana, under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to the family's heart.
