Regina "Carol" Woods, 86, of Washington, Illinois, passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Carol was born in Cosby, Tennessee, and lived a life marked by quiet strength, kindness, and enduring love. She married John Woods, on February 3, 1961, and he survives.

Carol was the devoted mother of Tammy (Rob) Duvendack and Tina (Jeffrey) Saad, and the proud grandmother of Amanda (Daniel) Young, Grant Duvendack, Ian Saad, and Jade Saad. She was also a joyful great-grandmother to Adeline and John Young. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffrey John Woods, and her parents, Alpha and Jesse Webb.

At the age of 9, Carol bravely battled polio, and later in life lived with post-polio syndrome. Though these challenges were lifelong, she never once complained. Carol faced every obstacle with quiet courage and unwavering dignity.

Throughout her life, Carol wore many hats-a skilled dog groomer, a dedicated school bus driver, and most importantly, the heart of her family. She loved to cook, do crosswords, spend time with her family, and had a deep love for animals. Her home was always warm, her table always full, and her love always constant.

Thank you to her team of fantastic physicians (Dr. Brian Cohen, Dr. K. Kramchandani, and Dr. Kashyap went above and beyond delivering outstanding care for Carol and her family. A special thanks to Lincare Medical Equipment and the staff who never failed us on service and kindness over the years. Thanks to Carle Hospice for the love and compassion of their leaders and staff.

Carol's legacy is one of perseverance, faithfulness, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Robert Finley will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 am until her time of service. A private burial will be in Brimfield Township Cemetery in Brimfield.
