Renell Parnell, age 63 passed away peacefully in Harvey, Louisiana on Monday, July 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 3, 1961 in Marrero, Louisiana to the late Charles and Rose Crescionie.
Renell was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Known for her toughness, she was equally admired for her deep compassion and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Throughout her life, Renell brought her strong work ethic and diverse skills to many workplaces, including Energy Electric where she worked for over 15 years, as well as Manda Shipyard and Sylivia and Son’s. She embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.
Renell found joy in cheering for the New Orleans Saints alongside her husband and treasured the many hours she spent at the ballpark watching her son and grandchildren play baseball and softball. She also devoted herself to caring for her mother, brother-in-law and sister-in-law before their passing.
Renell is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Oliver Parnell, Jr.; her son, Pete Taylor, Sr. (Valecia), Chris Parnell (Jamie) and Tony Parnell; her cherished Grandchildren, Pete Taylor, Jr. (Madeline), Brook Taylor, Christian, Sophia, Emali, Lucas and Aleia Parnell; her Great Grandchildren, Tayson and Gabriella Taylor. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Donald Burke (the late Janice), Frances Toups, June Dufrene (the late Andrew) and Rene Crescionie (Rachel) as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her immensely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rose Crescionie.
Although Renell faced adversity during her days on earth, she never allowed it to consume her. She handled every challenge with great strength. Renell’s life was a testament to resilience, love and devotion. She will be forever in our hearts.
