Reta M. Mussot, 90, of Chaumont, NY, passed away surrounded by her loving family June 10th, 2025 at the home of her sister-in-law Marlene Mussot and her niece Michele Wilson.
Reta was born on November 6th, 1934 in Rosiere, NY to the late Earl and Edith (Bourcy) Mussot. She graduated from Cape Vincent Central School and the Watertown School of Commerce. Reta worked at Mercy Hospital Medical Records as a medical transcriptionist for over 40 years. After retiring from Mercy Hospital, Reta began work as a medical transcriptionist for a private typing service where she stayed for 9 years.
Reta enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, she was a big Yankee's fan. Reta could often be found supporting and cheering for her great nieces and nephews at their sports games.
Reta is survived by her sister, Carol Heilman of Calcium, NY, sisters-in-law, Marlene Mussot of Chaumont, NY and Patricia Mussot of Rosiere, NY, many nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, and her caregiver Rachel Slate LPN.
Reta is predeceased by her siblings, Marie (Floyd) Emery, Francis "Frank" Mussot, Donald Mussot, and her brother-in-law, Gary Heilman.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church of Rosiere on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 at 10 AM. A burial in the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow.
Donations in Reta's memory may be made to the Catholic Community of Cape Vincent, Rosiere, and Chaumont or the Cape Vincent Fire Department.
