Reynaldo Carbajal, born on May 8, 1933, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2025. He was originally from Berclair Texas, but lived in Poteet, Texas. He worked as a painter for 20 years with several contractors throughout San Antonio until 1975. He then began working at Southwest Research Institute on May 12, 1975 as a painter for 17 years. He retired on April 24, 1992. At his retirement ceremony at Services at Southwest Research, he was recognized for his loyal service and praised to be an expert painter. He was given a plaque and a gold watch which he was very proud to display.
He was a simple and frugal man, earning an honest living, had a strong work ethic, he loved the lord, and he had a clever sense of humor. He loved visiting family and friends in his blue dodge truck which he called Nellie. She was old, worn, but always got him where he needed to go.
He found joy in the quiet moments sitting on his front porch feeling the morning rays of sunshine and watching the dawn sunsets all while listening to his Spanish music with his faithful Cat. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and wore his favorite team proudly. He loved participating in Rodeo season trail rides and parades on his favorite horse named Vijo. He loved all types of animals, and had several cows, horses, roosters, and chickens at his ranch in Poteet, Texas until he could no longer care for them.
Those who knew him well will always remember him for his favorite sayings: "No Way Jose" and "I'm Wheeling and Dealing"
He had an impact on a multitude of people and his memory will never be forgotten. He will be always loved, dearly missed, and forever be remembered as "Daddy" to his 7 children, "Grandpa" to his 23 grandchildren & 29 great-grandchildren, and "Carbajal" by his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Epitacio and Bernarda H. Carabajal; brothers, Resendo H. Carabajal and Prajares Carabajal; sisters, Adela Flores, Eloisa Carabajal, Inez Trevino, Evila Carabajal, and Alicia Florez; and grandson, Juan Antonio Dominguez III.
