Rhonda Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruegg Funeral Home - Williamsville on Feb. 21, 2026.
Rhonda Lynn Smith, 58 of Williamsville, departed this life on February 18, 2026, at Daisy Hill Farm, surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.

The daughter of Ruby (Eads) Smith and Jack Smith of Williamsville, Rhonda was born on March 4, 1967, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and lived her whole life in southeast Missouri.

After graduating from Greenville High School in 1985, Rhonda worked primarily in medical billing until she became a human resources specialist at the Poplar Bluff VA. She loved serving veterans.

Rhonda spent much of her free time with her horse, Nixie, and enjoyed many happy days camping and riding with her friends. She also loved kayaking, playing board games, and dancing.

Nothing was more important to Rhonda than family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby, maternal grandparents, Paul and Aileen Eads of Williamsville, and paternal grandparents, Lavada and Belvie Smith of Williamsville.

Rhonda leaves behind her father, Jack Smith of Williamsville, brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Misty Smith, of Williamsville, brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Angela Smith of Greenville, nieces Hannah Smith (and fiancé, Stephen Defoe), of St. Charles and McKenna Smith of Jonesboro, AR, nephew, Joshua Smith and wife Alyssa of Springfield, her chosen sister, Angela Wallhauser of Williamsville, her godparents, Otto and Christel Wallhauser of Greenville, and many treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rhonda's work ethic was unmatched; she was generous, kind, loving, and loyal and her loss will leave a hole in the family that will never be filled.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville Chapel. Funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 23, 2026, also in the Williamsville Chapel. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery, Williamsville. I was trained by Rhonda as an HR Specialist in the Fall of 2023. I am located in Houston, Texas and we connected virtually for meetings. Her work ethic was impeccable. It truly amazed me how focused she was as an employee despite her medical challenges. Rhonda´s spirit was full of energy. I cherish the time we spent working together. Rhonda was the caliber of a person that dominated the space she occupied. I am truly grateful for all she taught me. My life was enriched by my interactions with Rhonda Lynn Smith. I send love and encouragement to her family.

Blessings,
