With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Rhonda Sealey Walters, 71, of Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Rhonda was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life, dedicating herself to her family and community with a spirit of selfless love and unwavering support. She was a respected member and officer of the Shangrila POA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Clayton Walters, and her cherished parents, Bill and Meta Sealey.
Rhonda had a fulfilling career in the NC Community College System, where she served at both Robeson Community College and Brunswick Community College before her retirement. Beyond her professional life, Rhonda was a vibrant individual with many passions. She loved the beach and enjoyed all aspects of it, from the calming waves to the coastal breeze. She was an avid golfer and a skilled lady angler, finding peace and challenge in both pursuits. Her love for crafts was well-known, and she excelled in numerous crafting endeavors, bringing beauty and creativity into the lives of those around her. Her gentle nature and compassionate heart touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Rhonda is survived by her loving daughters, Allison Dees (David) of Harkers Island, NC, and Whitney Stephens of Supply, NC. She also leaves behind her brother, Brent Sealey (Donna) of Fairmont, and her sister, Sharon Hayes of Lake View, SC. Rhonda was a proud grandmother to Kevin Parker, Elizabeth Padgett (Anthony), Rilynnd Stephens, and Paisley Stephens, and a doting great-grandmother to Harper Padgett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends, who will forever remember her loving spirit and radiant smile.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Services, 5229 Ocean Hwy W, Shallotte, NC 28470. The Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Griswold officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rhonda's memory to a charity of your choice.

I loved Rhonda. We were united through our love of crafts. She re ignited my love for basket weaving and painting gourds. We were always sharing supplies. Loved playing golf with her. She was the best. Miss you.
