Harold Tribble Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tim Stewart Funeral Home - Snellville on Nov. 1, 2025.
TRIBBLE - Harold Tribble, 97, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2025. He died peacefully with his family at his side. Papa, as many people knew him, was born on October 4, 1928 in Loganville and spent his life in the same community raising a family and being an active part of his church, the Loganville Lions Club, the Walton County Special Olympics and many other organizations. His parents, Ross and Rose Tribble along with his brothers and sisters Jimmy Tribble, Bill Tribble, Martha Ann Stewart and Hilda Godfrey are waiting for him in heaven. He married Janice Glass on December 21, 1961 and they lived a blissful 62 years of marriage. Harold is survived by his brother Dan Tribble, his son, Grant Tribble (wife Rachel), daughter Toni Jarrett (husband Heath), and beloved grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Papa had such a rich and diverse life. He served in the US Coast Guard as a Helmsman for the USS Violet in the Baltimore Harbor, he lived in West Palm Beach and then moved back to Loganville, met and married the love of his life and spent the rest of his days as a father, a coach, a prankster, the teller of all things joke related and generally, being a good man. He loved and could tell a good story, had some of the craziest experiences, was a die-hard Georgia Tech fan until the end, could make his kids "act right" by simply clearing his throat, and was always the person you wanted on your team when playing Trivial Pursuit. He knew everything, experienced most of the 20th century, and loved the big band era of Harry James, Glen Miller and the ultimate, Louis Armstrong. He believed in hard work, responsibility and working to make sure his family understood their purpose and worth in this world.
He may have always seemed like he was involved because of his wife, but "Papa" also loved service to his community. He will be missed for his hard work, that amazing smile, his big hugs and the wonderful words we will all miss "hey baby!". Every time you walked into a room, his eyes would light up with wonder, and that was a talent that made everyone feel special.
Mr. Tribble will be honored on Friday, October 31, 2025 with a visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Loganville, with a brief service following at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Walton County Special Olympics, 200 Double Springs Church Road, Monroe, GA 30656 or to the Loganville Lions Club, 1528 Guthrie Crossing Drive, Loganville, GA 30052.

I will miss his hugs he had the best. I love his stories between Monroe and Loganville. I missed him this year at the festival. Janice and Harold always made you feel special. And one more thing I will miss is his spaghetti dinner for special Olympics. I miss both of you and love you.
