Richard Bailey Obituary

Richard T. "Dick" Bailey, age 88, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Altercare of Wadsworth, following a period of declining health.
Born on January 2, 1937, in Wadsworth to the late Clarence and Ruth (Bolich) Bailey, Dick was a lifelong resident of the community he loved. He graduated from Wadsworth High School and, shortly thereafter, married the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Faber, on July 1, 1956. They recently celebrated 68 years of devoted marriage.
Dick spent much of his career as a skilled meat cutter, beginning at Red Bird Foodliner and eventually running his own store. Later, he joined Wadsworth City Schools as a custodian, where he was a friendly and familiar face to generations of students and staff. His strong work ethic and kind demeanor were appreciated by all who knew him.
A passionate fan of classic cars, Dick could often be found attending car shows, sharing stories, and admiring vintage automobiles. He also loved traveling with Marjorie, creating a lifetime of cherished memories on the road together.
Dick's greatest pride was his family. In addition to his beloved wife, Marjorie, he is survived by his sons, Rick (Diane) Bailey of Laurel Hill, NC, and Scott (Robin) Bailey of Rittman; five grandchildren, Lyndon (Candice) Bailey, Crystal (Steve) Decker, Tiffany (Jesse) Shultz, Eric Bailey, and Kelsey (Jeff) Eby; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Bailey, and his grandson, Dustin Bailey.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating. Dick will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
Dick Bailey will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the love he poured into his family and community. He will be deeply missed.
