Richard Lloyd Barton, 73, of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025. Born in February 17, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of Seth Barton and Joyce Parks.
Richard was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He is survived by his three children: Christopher Barton and his wife Becky, Janet Tustin and her husband Gerald, and Katherine Crickon and her husband Eric; as well as four cherished grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind Susan Varnadore-his longtime companion, dear friend, and former spouse-who remained a meaningful presence in his life.
A hardworking and skilled man, Richard dedicated 25 years of his career as a Watch Engineer with the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), followed by another decade at Reliant Energy before retiring. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Richard had a passion for all things automotive. He found joy in working on cars, attending races, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers. His love for speed, engines, and the open road was matched only by his love for those closest to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Baldwin Brothers Titusville Chapel, 2400 S Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32780. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 12:30 PM.
Richard was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
*Richard passed away unexpectedly on July 2nd, leaving behind two loving daughters, Katie and Janet. As they navigate this profound loss, we are seeking your help to ease their burden. With no will or insurance, the costs of his funeral and the future expenses are overwhelming. Richard was a constant support to his family, helping them with their homes and being a devoted father.
Instead of sending flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to help Katie and Janet during this challenging time. Your generosity will not only assist with immediate needs but also provide comfort to a family that has given so much to others. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference. Please donate to the family here: Family of Richard Barton GoFundMe.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
