Richard Matthew Dry, 70, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Bronx, NY, Richard resided there until moving to Little Egg Harbor in 1987. He was a devoted member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church.
Richard found joy in many things, from tinkering with electronics and target shooting, to relaxing by the pool with a cigar. A true music aficionado and songwriter himself, he also played instruments and appreciated a good glass of scotch. He loved going on drives with his wife, Linda, and above all, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his cherished grandchildren.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Eleanor Dry.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 43 years, Linda (Zapf) Dry; his son, Richard Dry, and his wife, Theresa (Kennis); his daughter, Kathryn Weitz, and her husband, Matthew, all of Little Egg Harbor; his sister, Barbara LaSante, and her husband, James, of Poughkeepsie, NY; his brother from another mother, Frank Sette, of Whiting, NJ; his in-laws, Susan and Bob Zapf of Salisbury, MD; and his adored grandchildren, Richie, Easton, and Sophia; and many loving nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or the Atlantic City Humane Society.
