Richard Hughes Obituary

Richard Michael Hughes, 67, of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Born on October 23, 1957, in Norfolk, Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Reginald Hughes and Elizabeth Jane Watkins Hughes. Richard was retired from ARI Automotive in Cleveland. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, building model cars, working on old cars, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Rob" Hughes.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Ann Kirkpatrick Hughes; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Walters, Jr. (Lacy), Jason Walters (Joni), and Bobby Hughes (Sandra); daughters and son-in-law, Christina Walters, Tia Hughes, and Brittany Hughes Duckworth (Austin); grandchildren, Addilynn and Annslee Walters, Virginia, Allison, Elizabeth and Taylor Duckworth, Jasper Hughes, Stormy Sumner, Damien, Owen, Sebastian, Anastasia, Logan and Paisley Walters, Madison and Amelia Stanley; brother, Larry Hughes; sisters, Leah Gladson and Jane Bonville; several extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be planned in the spring.

McGahee-Griffin and McEntire Funeral Home of Cornelia is in charge of arrangements.

I just read of Ricky's passing and I'm so very sorry for your loss, Ricky and I worked together at ARI for a good many years, we had some good laughs what a great guy! He'll be missed
