Gaylan Gehring, 76, of Columbus, Nebraska, passed away November 8, 2025 surrounded by family and friends at Brookestone Acres following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Bible Baptist Church in Columbus with Pastor Robert Walker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 1 to 2 pm at the Church. Interment is in Roselawn Cemetery.

Gaylan George Gehring was born March 17, 1949 to Walter and Grace (Kruse) Gehring in Columbus, Neb. He received his education at Columbus High School. Gaylan was a lifelong resident of Columbus, working at the family business, Gehring Construction and Ready Mix from an early age. In 1994, he started his own concrete pumping business, Heartland Concrete Placement, Inc. Gaylan was actively involved in the business until his final days. He was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church.

He is survived by son, Gaylan Jr. (Yanaisy) Gehring, son, Shane (Kimberly) Gehring, son, Jeff (Tina) Gehring, son, Lance (Maria) Gehring; 8 grandchildren; sister, Janell (Stephen) Anderson; brother, Eugene (Sarah) Gehring; sister-in-law, Lynita Gehring.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Gehring; daughter, Charlene Gehring; granddaughter in infancy; brother, Merlin Gehring; sister, Jeanne Gehring.
