Irondequoit: Passed November 4, 2013 at age 102. Predeceased by his wife, Josephine; He is survived by his sons, Frederick (Sally), Francis (Paula) and James (Fern) Cardella; grandchildren, Lauren Cardella, Michelle (Cardella) Smith, Todd Cardella, Michael Cardella, Kathryn (Cardella) Bachmann, Daniel Cardella, Zack Cardella; great-grandchildren, Elaina and Owen Smith; siblings, Dominic, Stella Mary, Fred (of FL) Cardella, Gloria Barons; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a high school member of the Canandaigua Academy Track Team in 1929, sports writer for the Canandaigua Messenger, worked at J.J. Newberry Co., then moved to Rochester, where he worked at Eastman Kodak Co. and owned his own real estate co. He was a WW II Army Veteran, an avid sports fan who watched every game on TV and loved the Yankees even when they were losing.
Family and friends may attend calling hours 4-8PM Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30AM Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd., Penfield. Interment, Irondequoit Cemetery. Donations may be made to Edna Tina Wilson Living Center. To share a memory, please visit:
