Richard C. “Dick” McCullough, 98 of West Salem died Sunday, October 19, 2025 at his home.
Dick was born January 7, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to parents; Clyde and Anna (Strednack) McCullough.
He honorable served in the US Army during WWII.
Dick and his brother; Jack were owners of McCullough Barber Shop in West Salem for over 70 years.
He received his 75-year pin from West Salem Masonic Lodge # 398, a lifetime member of Jeromesville American Legion Post 749 and a member of Wiggletown Amvets Post 149 in Polk, Ohio. Dick enjoyed going perch and walleye fishing on Lake Erie and pitching horse shoes.
He is survived by nephews; Robert McCullough, Dave McCullough and Mark Young and nieces; Karen Johnson, Deborah Odom and Cheryl Opdyke.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Evelyn Young, brother; Jack McCullough, nephew; Dennis McCullough and niece; Barbara Young.
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday October 26, 2025 with Pastor Beryl Baum officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Salem Cemetery with military rites conducted by Jeromesville American Post 749.
Memorial may be given to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to West Salem Cemetery, P.O. Box 226, West Salem, Ohio 44287.
