Richard Schultz, 89, passed away at Lincoln Park Manor, Lincoln, Kansas, on Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was born on the family farm north of Lucas in Delhi Township in Osborne County on August 7, 1935, to Andrew and Rozena (Brock) Schultz. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school, where he graduated from the 8th grade.
Richard attended high school in Lucas and graduated from Lucas High School in 1953.
He was a long-time resident of Osborne County, where he was a farmer and cattleman. On May 29, 1960, Richard married Nola Brown in Luray United Methodist Church, Luray, Kansas. They were married 64 years, 10 months, and 3 days. They had three children: Lyle, Annette, and Larry. After retiring, they moved to the town of Lucas, although he still went to the farm every day.
Richard is preceded in death by his son, Larry, in 2019 and his daughter, Annette Lantz, in 2022; his parents, sisters and their husbands, Mavis and Jim Allison, and Carol and Gary Seirer. Richard is survived by his wife, Nola, of the home, son Lyle of Lucas; son-in-law, Jerry Lantz, Salina, Kansas; Grandchildren, Skyler and Ryan Schultz of Hays, Kansas; Victoria (Zac Zundt) and children Zyra and Zadyn Zundt, Joanie (Brayden Galliart), all of Garden City, Kansas, and brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Carolyn Schultz of Lucas, many nieces and nephews and many friends.
Memorials are suggested to the Lucas Community Church.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at the Lucas Community Church, 322 N. Main St., Lucas, Kansas, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Lucas Cemetery.
