Richard Lee "Rick" Wilson, 72, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring.
Rick was born and raised in Washington, Indiana, where he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors and a deep appreciation for hard work and family. He graduated from Highland High School, where he was an active member of the wrestling and track teams.
Following high school, Rick began his career with the railroad - a path that took him across the country. It was during his time in Maryland that he met the love of his life, Patti. The couple eventually settled in St. Augustine in 1993, where they built a life filled with adventure, community, and love.
Rick was an avid fisherman who found joy and peace on the water. Whether casting lines with friends or heading offshore by boat, fishing was one of his greatest passions. He was a man of many interests - he enjoyed painting, tending to his small farm, and caring for the animals he loved, especially his small dogs. Rick had a vibrant spirit and zest for life, always eager to try something new and enjoy the simple pleasures each day had to offer.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Patti; his children, Garret Wilson and Tracy Wilson; and numerous beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gladys Wilson, and his brother, David Wilson.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine, FL. is in charge of arrangements.
