Rickey Seamster Obituary

Funeral service for Rickey Donell Seamster, age 65, of Lawton, Oklahoma, former Tipton resident, will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwight Singleton officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel Wednesday prior to the service.
Mr. Seamster passed away Friday morning July 4, 2025, at his home.
He was born October 20, 1959, at Grant, Oklahoma, to Fred and Fedocia (Webb) Seamster. Rickey lived in Oklahoma City for several years and worked for the City of Oklahoma City Sanitation Department. He also worked at the Sheridan Hotel in Oklahoma City. He met Linda F. Hill, the love of his life in 1987. They were united in marriage on May 31, 2003, at Tipton. He lived in Frederick and Tipton most of his life. Rickey worked at Centra Leather Goods and at Bar-S as the Sanitation Director. Rickey's real joy came from working outdoors. He worked at the cotton gin, hauled hay, and did all sorts of yard and lawn work for many years until he was unable to continue due to his health. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Tipton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Freddy, Ernest, and Marshall Seamster; sisters: Christine, Ruby, and Doris Seamster.
He is survived by his wife Linda, of the home in Lawton; a son: Denson Simpson, of Lawton; two daughters: Lela Phillips and husband Nigel Farris, of Oklahoma City, and Priscilla Simpson, of Lawton; six brothers: A.C. Seamster, Hobart, Eddie Seamster and wife Betty, of Frederick, Bobby Seamster, also of Frederick, Willie Seamster, of Oklahoma City, Quincy Seamster, of Oklahoma City, and Deveril Seamster and wife Yolanda, of Oklahoma City; three sisters: Mary Young and husband Raymond, Melba Seamster, and Treva Seamster, all of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Mikayla Farris, Mariah Simpson, Davion Simpson, Tatyana Daniel, Dylan Simpson, Shania Simpson, NeAvi Jackson and wife Jenifer Simpson; great grandchildren: Harmony Daniel and Easton Simpson.
