Ricky Lynn Hanson
August 13, 1952 – June 25, 2025
Ricky Hanson, 72, of Devine, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Born on August 13, 1952, in Castroville, Texas, Ricky spent his life dedicated to work, but even more dedicated to his family. A proud oilfield foreman, he was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and the way he could fill a room without saying much at all. He loved being outside, driving a tractor or other equipment, watching a ballgame, or playfully scaring his grandkids just to hear them squeal with laughter.
Ricky’s greatest pride was his family—especially his three daughters and his six grandchildren. He rarely missed a game or event, and if he was there, you could count on him to be watching with pride. His sense of humor, steady presence, and unconditional love left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Ricky was preceded in death by his mother Anna Lea Hanson (nee Day) and son-in-law Cody Krueger.
He is survived by his father, Robert Hanson; his sister, Janice Haar; brothers, Kenny (Danelle) and Harlan (Jan) Hanson; his children Katherine (CJ) Garza, Kelsey (Cameron) Kresta, Kimberly (fiancée Joel Rocha) Hanson, his beloved grandchildren, Caden Reese Hanson and Alayna Jo Garza; Parker Lynn and Cannon Wesley Kresta; Berkly Rae and Haisley Mae Rocha; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a memorial fund benefiting his grandchildren—his favorite legacy of all. Donations can be made at any Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) branch under Ricky Hanson Memorial Fund.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Primrose Funeral Services of Devine, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Primrose funeral Services of Devine, Texas, with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery
