Ricky Lynn Wireman, 66 of Springport, MI passed away on Aug 19, 2025 at his home from a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and his best friend Carl who came everyday at the end. He was born in Marshall, MI to Homer and Barbra (Cousino) Wireman, the 6th child of 11. He was raised and went to school in Olivet. On April 14, 1984 he married Michelle Bernadette Schneider in Olivet. They bought some property with a trailer on 26 mile Rd, and eventually built a house there.
Mostly Rick loved riding and working on 3-wheelers, quads, dirt bikes, snowmobiles and any kind of ATVs, including a few 6-wheel ATV things his family never heard of or saw before. But he could fix them all. He made it his personal mission to make a motor run. He considered it a challenge that he was going to win No Matter What! He enjoyed sharing his accomplishments and complications with friends who would stop by in the Garage to look at his latest project or hear about his latest problem. He enjoyed all the guys who stopped by to drink a beer and shoot the bull with him.
He went on a few riding trips with his brothers and friends and, later on, when side by sides became a thing, he had to have one of those as well, although he didn't get to use it much because he wasn't feeling well.
He loved his boys. He taught them construction skills while building the family home, and taught them to ride and repair quads and cars. He had a special relationship with his first grandson, Jordan. When Jordan needed advice on something, he knew he could always call and ask Gramp. He loved his granddaughter Natalee for her wit and humor. When the next granddaughter, Ariel, was born last year, he held her for a long time, saying how small and beautiful babies are. Sadly, he did not get to see his great-grandson Declan in person but saw lots of pictures and was thrilled to know he had another little Wireman to carry on the name.
Rick always said he had a good life, and his wife told him she had a good life because of him. Her loss is almost unbearable. But she knows Jehovah is going to be with her, giving her strength and courage to endure her loss. And God will remember that Rick was honest, loyal, kind, hardworking and generous with his family and friends. No one could have asked for a better husband or best friend.
Rick is survived by his wife Michelle; sons Matt and Steve (Ashley Beliew); grandson Jordan (Kayai Root); granddaughters Natalee and Ariel; great-grandson Declan; brothers Bob, Albert (Cathy), John (Lisa), Jim (Kathy), Mike; sisters Cris (Larry) Rizzuto, Pam (Mark) Wells; sisters-in-law Ann, Kathi, Vicki Wireman. He was predeceased by his parents Homer and Barbra (Cousino) Wireman; brothers Donnie, Gary, and Tim Wireman; nephews Andy and Teddy Wireman and Jeremy Murphy.
