Robert "Bobby" Dale Arbach passed away June 18th, 2025, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD under Hospice Care after a lengthy battle with dementia.
A graveside service will be held July 22, 2025, at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Sisseton, SD at 1:00 PM.
Bobby was born on October 21,1958 in Sisseton, SD to Robert and Colleen (Barrett) Arbach. He was the first son (finally!) after 3 daughters and was born on his dad's birthday, hence the name Bobby Junior. Bobby was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD. He graduated from Sisseton High School in 1976 and then attended SDSU for one year before returning home to work. He worked for the South Dakota Highway Engineering Department and local plumbers before finally settling at Wilmot Plumbing in Wilmot, SD. He made his home in Wilmot until entering Edgewood Assisted Living in Sisseton, SD in 2020. He eventually moved to Edgewood Memory Care in Mitchell, SD and finally to Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Bobby enjoyed sports. He played basketball and VFW/American Legion baseball in high school. He then spent many years playing softball with the Lancers Bar team and the Vig Lumber/Videoland team which won the Northern Regional Slow Pitch Championship in Fargo, ND in 1986. He was a good sport and win or lose he always found time to "celebrate."
Bobby is survived by sisters Pam (Rick) Martin of Mitchell, SD, and Sandy (Neil) Vig of Peever, SD; one brother, Jerry (Becky) Arbach of Rosholt, SD; brother-in-law Joel (Gail Sumerfelt) Hortness of Peever, SD; four nephews, Chris (Meggan) Hortness of Sisseton, SD, Joey (Tanya) Martin of Sioux Falls, SD, Jeff (Chris) Martin of Pukwana, SD and Jeremy Arbach of Huron, SD; two nieces; Lindsey Hortness of Sisseton, SD and Jennifer (Ryan Akins) Arbach of Flower Mound, Texas; nine great nieces and nephews; one uncle, Doug Barrett of Midvale, ID.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Colleen Arbach, sister Bonnie Hortness, grandparents Peter and Mary Arbach and George and Ilet Barrett and several aunts and uncles.
Bobby's family would like to thank Edgewood Assisted Living, Edgewood Memory care, Firesteel Healthcare Center and Avera Hospice for their kindness and loving care.
May he rest in peace.
