Robert (Bob) R. Wambach Sr., 95, of Georgetown, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in his home under the care of Ethos Hospice. 

Robert Roland Wambach was born March 25, 1929, the son Roland and Teresa (Kolsky) Wambach, on a farm in rural Argusville, ND. He lived with his family in rural Hawley, MN near Silver Lake before they settled on a farm near Georgetown in his early teens. After receiving his education, Robert dedicated his life to farming and raising livestock. 

On October 29, 1949, he was united in marriage to Bernedine “Bonnie” Lakeman in Georgetown. They established their home on a farm near Georgetown where he continued farming. In addition to farming, Robert, owned and operated a fuel truck in the area of Georgetown MN, owned and drove a bus for District 152, and took over Wambach Grocery Store from his parents. He was also a shareholder of Valley Quality Egg Producers Association. Following the passing of Bonnie on June 2, 2020, Robert has continued to make his home on the farm. 

Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Georgetown. 

His passions included gardening, fishing, and traveling. His most important cherished moments were spent with family, especially his grandchildren. Robert leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family.

Robert is survived his children, Teresa (Bill) Rose, Perham, MN, David Wambach (Linda Young), Foley, MN, Larry (Pam) Wambach, Kingman, AZ, Mike (Mary) Wambach, Huron, SD, Patty (Kevin) Nold, Henning, MN, Gary (Carol) Wambach, Georgetown, Nancy (Marc) St. Louis, Moorhead, MN, Peggy (Aaron) Larson, Wadena, MN, and Mark (Ann) Wambach, Ottertail, MN; 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen Wambach and Ronnie Wambach; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 70 years, Bernedine “Bonnie”; eldest son Robert “Bob” Wambach Jr., and his wife Diane Wambach; his grandson, Greg Wambach (son of Bob and Diane); one great-grandchild, Andrew Burke; sister Rita Kopp, brother Genie Wambach; and Son in Law Aaron Larson. In- laws Dirk and Gudrun Lakeman. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wild Rose Cemetery Association in Georgetown, MN or Ethos Hospice in Fargo, ND. 

A Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Visitation will continue beginning at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 22, 2025, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Robert will be laid to rest in Wild Rose Cemetery, Georgetown at a later date.
