Robert (Bob) William Cantrell, age 81, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on August 3, 2025. He was born in Camden, Tennessee in 1944 where most of his family resided. He grew up in the Big Sandy Community area near Camden and lived there on a farm with his parents, sister, Betty, and brother, Richard, until he married in 1963. He graduated from Big Sandy High School, received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Tennessee. Early on, Bob felt the call to ministry and pursued a theological degree allowing him to begin his pastoral ministry at the age of 21, serving small United Methodist Churches in the Memphis Annual Conference located in the West Tennessee Area. In 1979, Bob and family relocated to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he served as Associate Pastor of Central United Methodist Church on Dickson Street for 3 years. After this period of time, he chose to pursue a career in private business ownership where he enjoyed the challenge of also assisting others in the purchase or sale of business ownership. This was his career and passion for over 35 years. Bob is survived by his wife, Glenda, their two children, Sheri Kilgore (Joe) of Fayetteville and Jason Cantrell of Fayetteville. They have six grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany), Kendra (Keith), Christopher, Nicholas, Madison and Sarah Kathryn; three step grandchildren, Corbin, Ellie and Cameron, three great grandchildren, Bradley, Emily and Lexi, one living sibling, Richard (Linda) and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Church, Northwest Arkansas Mall, P.O. Box 10798, Fayetteville, AR 72703. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2025, at Christ Church, Northwest Arkansas Mall. To leave a tribute, please visit https://www.bernafuneralhomes.com.
