Robert Cook Obituary

Robert Cook, affectionately known as Bob, passed away at the age of 89 on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Deerfield Center in Deerfield Township, Isabella County, Michigan. Born on April 25, 1935, in Gratiot County, Michigan, Bob was the beloved son of the late Willard R. and Orpha L. (Easlick) Cook.
Bob graduated from Ithaca High School, where he led the football team as quarterback. He pursued a career in barbering after attending barber trade school and worked at a barber shop at Central Michigan University. Bob's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own business, Bob's Barber Shop, on Michigan Street in downtown Mt. Pleasant. Alongside his barbering career, Bob was also a landlord and farmer.
Bob's greatest passion was hunting and fishing, activities he cherished throughout his life. He also enjoyed showing his tractor at various shows with his friend Steve Campbell. In June of 1957, he married Logie Ann Kapustka, and they shared 63 wonderful years together until her passing in 2020. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Robert, Kristine, and William.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert C. (Karen) Cook Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and Bill (Joneil) Cook of Mt. Pleasant; his son-in-law, David (Kathy) Bouck of Canadian Lakes; his grandchildren, Kristina Stephenson, Chance (Jennifer) Elliott, Rylin Pratt, Wyatt Cook, Taylor Cook, and Austin Cook; two great-grandchildren, Archie and Destinee; and his sister-in-law, Karen Cook of Traverse City; He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Logie, his daughter Kris Bouck, and his siblings Ervin Cook, Herbert Cook, Eldon Cook, Bonnie Harkness, Betty Lane, and infant brother, Richard Cook.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at Deerfield Township Hall. The family will begin receiving friends at 1 p.m. A meal will follow the service. All are welcome to attend and honor the memory of a man who touched many lives.
