Robert Crosby Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Crosby, age 76, of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, who went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2025. Born on October 17, 1948, in Macon, Georgia, but growing up and living most of his life in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bob was a devoted husband, caring father, and cherished grandfather who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He dedicated 33 years of his life to education, inspiring young minds as a beloved English teacher and yearbook advisor. More than just an educator, Bob was a passionate coach, leading high school, middle school, and recreational teams in baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, and football for an astounding 63 seasons. His vibrant personality and signature sense of humor created joy wherever he went. Although a church member his entire life, it was after retirement that he became very involved in the church: bible study, helping in the church office, and assisting his wife to teach ballroom dance classes to church members.
Bob shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Michelle "Mikki" Banta Crosby. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, raising their family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Bob's love for baseball flourished there, alongside hobbies like disc golf, racquetball, pickleball, golf and following his Florida State Seminoles especially in football and baseball, which he enjoyed with the same enthusiasm and fun-loving spirit.
Bob's legacy lives on through his children, Andy (Nez) Crosby and Lindy (Ross) Shoemaker; and his beloved grandchildren: Jordan, Wyatt, Beckett, and Dakota. He adored them deeply and was ever present in nurturing their dreams. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Susette) Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hughey and Lula Mae Crosby.
A visitation in Peachtree Corners, GA in honor of Bob's life will be held at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel on May 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A funeral service in Fort Lauderdale, FL will be held at First Presbyterian Church on June 5, 2025 at 3:00 PM with reception to follow at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation Florida.
Bob Crosby's warmth, humor, and passion will be profoundly missed. His life was a testament to the joys of coaching, family, and community. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
