Robert Grant Dauel passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family, on July 13, 2025, at the age of 62. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, husband, grandfather and friend. Robert was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 31, 1963, to Margaret and Gary Dauel. He spent his early childhood in the Fort Collins and LaPorte area of Colorado. He grew up in a loving and chaotic home alongside his many siblings. His early days were filled with camping trips, fishing and creating his own adventures. Eventually his father moved the family to Gothenburg, Nebraska where he graduated from High School. After high school Robert worked varied jobs. He met the love of his life Rhonda who he shared 41memorable years with. He found his true career passion working for Blattner Energy for over 25 years. He worked his way up the career ladder to become a General Supervisor. During his tenure he managed numerous wind energy projects in Texas and throughout the US. His professional success could be attributed to his hard work, unwavering work ethics, tenacity, honesty and integrity. Robert touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and gregarious, outgoing nature. Robert was a generous friend and possessed an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. He possessed a brilliant mind, disarming wit, and an empathetic heart. He had a rare gift of building community wherever he found himself. He loved his family, God, his job and fishing passionately. He lived his life with strong will, gusto and unwavering determination. He never knew a stranger and made friends and lifelong connections wherever he went. He loved the Lord and was passionate about experiencing God's creation outdoors. He also loved music and loved to sing. An avid outdoorsman, Robert found joy gardening and being outdoors. His true passion was fishing. He always traveled with his trusty fishing pole and gear, taking every opportunity exploring surrounding lakes, streams and canals for the perfect catch.
Whether he was telling jokes, fishing, working or showing off his infamous dad dance moves, Robert made every moment unforgettable.
Robert never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living life fully. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life Rhonda. His children were the beneficiaries of his great love, and many sacrifices, and they will be eternally grateful for everything he gave them. He was a proud grandfather, and his grandchildren were especially important to him, and he loved each of them dearly.
Robert is survived by his father Gary, and his wife Rhonda. His children Dustin (Amy), Dylan, Dalton, Josey, Jessy and Jorgey (Avery). His 12 grandchildren. His siblings, Barbara, Melissa, Chad, Becky, Annmarie, Trina Jo, Chrystal and Jonathon along with numerous nieces, nephews, and chosen family. He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret, uncle Peter Dauel, and niece Kristina Allen.
A Visitation will be held on Friday July 18, 2025 at 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at McCoy Chapel of Memories on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Michael Rosales officiating.
A second celebration of life will be held in Gothenburg Nebraska at future date. We would like to thank the many health care professionals at Covenant Medical Center of Lubbock who compassionately cared for and supported Robert during his illness and hospitalizations.

My husband & I had the distinct pleasure of meeting & working with Robert through Blattner. He shared freely his vast construction knowledge & his quick wit! There was never a dull moment if Robert was on the scene. He encouraged, he was patient, he inspired you to always do better. There was never a mistake, it was always a learning moment. We share in your sadness but rejoice in his homegoing!
