Robert L. Frye, 85, of Patoka, IN passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville, surrounded by family. He was born December 8, 1939 in Linton, IN to the late Virgil Frye and Harriet (Martindale) Frye. Bob attended Bloomfield High School. He retired as a Janitor from Duke Energy after 25+ years of service. Bob married Mary (Koelling) Frye February 1, 1986 and they were blessed with 39 years of marriage. He was a Princeton Tiger's fan and loved to watch any IU sport when he could. Bob collected John Wayne and Budweiser memorabilia. Most importantly he loved to spend time with his family. Bob especially loved going to his grandchildren's events and sports games. He was known as their personal chauffeur at times. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Marjorie (Sullivan) Frye; son, Joseph Frye; and step-siblings, Charles Eugene "Gene" Hendricks, Evalena Wratten, and Mamie Elnora Larson.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary L. Frye; children, Emma Marie Frye, Tim Frye, and Julie Wirth-Evans (Terry Smith); grandchildren, Benjamin Frye, Jacob Evans (Brandy), and Kilee Evans; and 9 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, July 25, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Evansville, IN with Pastor Kirk Horstmeyer officiating.

For those who wish, memorial contributions can be given to Riley Children's Hospital, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
