Robert D. Grode, 82, of Auburndale, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025. Born in Kenton, Ohio, Bob lived a life rooted in hard work, deep devotion to his family, and an unwavering passion for the Florida Gators. He built his career in the tile industry, spending many years at Florida Tile in Lakeland before moving to Crossville, Tennessee, where he proudly served as the opening manager of Crossville Tile's second plant. His leadership left a lasting impact on those he worked with and mentored. Bob was a true Gator fan through and through. He rarely missed a game and found joy in cheering on all things Orange and Blue, especially Gator Football. He was known by those who loved him as a strong and steady leader, both in the workplace and at home. His family always came first, and he led with love, humility, and strength. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary Grode; his sister, Ruth Ludwig; and his brother, Jimmy Grode. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia "Ginny" Grode; his children, Mary Lou Wiggins (Patrick), Robert D. Grode II (Lori), and Becky Grode; and his grandchildren, Emily Camar (Christopher), Jacob Wiggins (Kara), Madison Tison (Elijah), Robert D. Grode III, and Eric Grode. A Graveside Service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, 4620 U.S. Highway 98 S, Lakeland, FL 33812, on Thursday, August 7,2025, at 10:00 a.m.
