Robert Hines Obituary

Robert Arthur Hines, 78, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2025. He was born on February 22, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Arline Solveij Jacobsen Hines and William Arthur Hines.
Bob grew up in Valley Stream, New York where he attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was confirmed. He was also the captain of his church basketball team. Bob had a knack for tinkering with various gadgets, particularly his MGB, fishing boats and motorcycle; other passions of his included reading, taking his pontoon boat out on the lake or spending time with his beloved dogs: Henry and Lincoln. Bob was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who spent 21 months serving his country as a quartermaster in Vietnam.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of faith, determination, kindness and gratitude that will be missed deeply by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Brent Hines.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Moss Hines; brothers and sister-in-law, Doug Hines and Bill (Allyson) Hines of Villa Rica; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Matt, Crissy and Eric; several great nephews and one grand niece; as well as his beloved German hunting dogs, Lincoln and Henry.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2025 at First Baptist Church Villa Rica from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:30 AM.
