HUBBARDTON-Robert LeRoy Jones, Jr., 65 of Hubbardton died Saturday morning July 19, 2025 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
He was born on December 18, 1959 in Rutland the son of Robert L. and Patricia (Todriff) Jones Sr.
Robert married Kim Davis on Feb 5, 1978 in West Rutland.
He was a member of the Vermont National Guard for 11years and was employed by the State of Vermont Transportation and Bridge crew for over 20 years following his retirement he operated a garage in Proctor and then a garbage route in the area.
Robert was a member of the Hubbardton Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed gardening. His family was his top priority
Survivors include his wife Kim of Hubbardton, a son Kenneth Jones of Brandon, 3 sisters Terrie Lazader of Rutland, Debra Brown of Poultney and Mindy Jones of Wells, a brother William D. Jones of Danby, 14 grandchildren, 10 Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father in 2011, mother Patricia Edwards in 2024, and a son Robert "Robbie" Jones III in 2024.
Friends may call for Robert and Robbie from 4pm until 6pm on Friday July 25, 2025 at the Durfee Funeral Home.

Robert sat on my porch swing just a short time ago while I fetched a mosquito lantern from the garage for him to have. He loved the swing saying he could fall asleep right there and he could picture he and Kim on the swing together. Please accept that swing which hangs on my back porch, as my gift, to honor Robert and bring some peace to all of you. Please take the swing when you feel ready.
He was a kind man with a gentle soul. He passed on his work ethics to his children and grandchildren such a great gift on his part in this world today. I will miss him. I send heartfelt condolences to all of you.
