Robert A. Moser, 78, of Guttenberg, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics surrounded by his wife and 3 daughters.
Visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg, Iowa where military honors will be accorded at 7 p.m.
Robert was born on October 7, 1946, on the home farm in Millville, Iowa, son of Clyde and Fern (Wachendorf) Moser. He graduated from Guttenberg High School with the class of 1965. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army and served his country from 1965-1967 and served in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Barb Hansel of Garber, Iowa on December 14,1968 and later were blessed with three daughters. He worked for Wright Tree Service for many years and Nordic Forge until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the V.F.W. and Eagles club and assisted with military funerals and participated in parades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, playing cards and dice and loved watching old westerns and sports, dancing and singing, playing softball with Johns’s Feed, working on Blume farm and enjoying time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Barb of 56 years, and three daughters: Tami Bockenstedt, Traci (Brian) White, Toni (Rod - Goob) Schmelzer all of Guttenberg. His seven grandchildren Justin Wiedner, Brianna Haugen, Kaitlin Bockenstedt, Cortney Clauson, Chance White, Stacey Aulwes, and Sawyer Schmelzer and nine great-grandchildren, Izzy, Madisyn, Baylor, Warren, Bentley, Zaylyn, Cohen, Myles and Owen; siblings: Bev Berns, Becky Boyce (Stuart Summer), Brenda (Mike) Landwehr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Fern (Wachendorf) Moser, father and mother in-law Eugene and Merle Hansel, and three siblings: Bill, Bonnie, Bruce; and in-laws: Jeanette, LaVerl, Roger and Lynn.
