Robert was born November 26, 1942 in Detroit, to the late Eugenia Osbourne.
He was a true son of the city, whose loyalty to his hometown was evident throughout his life and his distinguished and successful career at the Detroit News. After retiring he spent his days working for the Detroit Lions in Security and as a Ford Field Tour Guide.
Beloved husband of Elizabeth Osborne; dear brother-in-law of Betty Luzynski; and cherished uncle of Joseph Luzynski, David Luzynski, Robert Luzynski, Brett Hammerschmidt, Curt Hammerschmidt, Rene Linquist, Denise Scharf, the late Tad Hammerschmidt, and the late Karla Hammerschmidt.
A memorial gathering to honor Robert will take place July 19, 11am-1pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc, 16300 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe Park.
