Robert Everett Shaw, 74, died on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Born on September 30, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was a son of the late Duane Shaw and Marjorie Nelson Shaw. Bob spent most of his life in Ridgewood, New Jersey and was a graduate of Ridgewood High School and Bergen County Community College. He worked for years as the night-shift Water Plant Operator at Ridgewood Water Department and often volunteered to work major holidays so his coworkers could be with their families. Bob later moved to Hull, Georgia for retirement and enjoyed reading, movies, TV and music.
Survivors include his sisters, Sara (Sally) vander Straeten, Sandra (Sandy) Masterson, and Jane Stein; nieces and nephews, Sara vander Straeten Hanna, Eric vander Straeten, Kathryn Elizabeth Masterson, Keith Masterson, Jamie Stein Smolko, Jesse Stein and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:30 with a service beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ferst Readers of Madison County, GA at www.ferstreaders.org or to the Madison County Senior Center, 1265 GA-98, Danielsville, GA 30633 or to a charity of your choice.
